    Printready 11 installation

    Hi all,

Suppose one has all of which needed ( installers - licenses and dongles )

Can someone break down in simple words the installation procedure?

Or provide some documentation for that, that would be even better.

There are four things that must be installed, signa, meta, shooter and the prinready environment.

I think that heidi's techs first installed the environment, then the lic server and then signa/toolbox/meta/shooter, but it's over 8 years since i saw that, and i was working at the same time...

I also remember that before doing all the above they configured a dell windows 2008 server to heidi's requirements, they had a 10pages leaflet just for the server config.

So if there's someone available to write down any kind of info, it will be of great help.

And when i say whatever, i mean whatever comes to a mans mind, from software issues to simple ''carry some tire ups to make wires steady'' advice.

    something easier, if i may.

What would be the highest acrobat pro compatible with the prinect 11 ?

I remember 9 was the lowest, which would anyone here propose, stick with 9, upgrade to X or even DC?

And what kind of desktop would you propose so signa and cockpit could run without any problems?

    Thanks in advance!

ps like i already wrote, any kind of documentation could give great help as well!

    Hi there,

    Workflow installation sequence normally is:
    0) Acrobat
    1) Common Database
=> copy the installer folder to the root of a local drive (e.g. D:\),
    2) Integration Manager
    3) RIP software (Meta Dimension or Renderer)
    4) all the Cockpits, Signa etc. software on workstations.

Windows 7 is a good OS for Prinect-11. Cockpit works with Windows XP and 7, but not with Vista.

    Acrobat-Version I don't remember. Acrobat-X should work, perhaps 11, but DC?

    Best regards

    Thanks a lot !

Does it matter which version? (32 or 64 )

I'll give it a shot with X for safety reasons, it was released around then.

    Anyway thanks again!

ps. integration manager installs both printready environment and license manager then?

Oracle Database for Prinect-11 is avaiable in 32 or 64 bit. Please choose which Server-OS do you have.

yes, AFAIR integration manager installs both printready environment and license manager. During installation you must specify the Prinect-License-Server which can run on Prinect-Workflow-Server (default) or on another PC as License-Server.

Installation is not so difficult as it seems. If you have full installation files there are some good manuals.

I'll get to know what i exactly have in a couple of days, somethings might be already installed - for good or for bad ... -

The 32 or 64 bit system question was about the workstation signa and cockpit will be installed.

The way i see it, it shouldn't matter if the installation is made on a 32bit os - windows server 2008 for example -

Can you have the server running a 32bit os, while the workstation with cockpit and signa running on a 64bit os from your experience or there might be some conflicts?

In my opinion this should work. I would give it a try.

Most probably i won't have the chance ( to give it a try ).

The guy who wanted me to install it, had bought a supra and printready 11 together, but the seller didn't sold him the workstation running cockpit and signa.

I told him to buy a descent pc to install them, and till then i showed him how to rip imposed pdf's direct to meta.

I'm still waiting for his call and he's still imposing in illy and dropping pdf's to meta without preflight...
