PHOTOSHOP: For the basic 2D work the upgrade is not worth it's price.

I hear you, I also don't care for the way Adobe is going with the subscription model...
The main thing I like about CS6 is the speed. Compared to other versions I've had, it's lightning fast. That said, it ddn't change too much, and you probably don't need to upgrade.

CS6/CC are a HUGE upgrade over CS5. It just runs a whole lot smoother, and, though I don't have specific examples in mind, there's some tools in 6 that just don't exist in 5.

From C5 to CS6 worth 1000% in every sense.
I believe I will never upgrade to CC.

I've noticed some glitches when using CS6 so I downgraded to CS5.5, in my opinion the most stable version!

I ended up upgrading to CS6 anyways... The update from CS5 to 6 feels bigger than other versions. There are quite a few useful features, and I like the new cropping behavior. Anyways, thanks for your opinions. If anyone else is on the fence, and doesn't feel like using CC, I think it's worth it.

I use both pc & mac.
With Pc, CS6 works incredibly better than previous versions.
With Mac, I had a lot of speed and video card problems, specially when used with 2 monitors. so I went back to CS5.5.

Couldn't agree more! This has saved me a few times! Now they just need to have the same feature in illustrator (which crashes on me almost on a weekly basis)

    Definitely go to CC.

I love the Photoshop CC feature of saving jpg's and png's (for web development) right from layer names!
