I don't know why Windows Explorer cannot display animation GIF anymore.... Bridge work best for Adobe files and I like it because t could create contact sheet easily.

I use bridge too. Earlier I learned that some shops offering heat transfer services use picassa to create/print contct sheets. I tried picasa but it is too slow and I think it cannot open vector files. I can't remember for certain though.

Bridge is for Adobe users, Explorer is for everyday users.

Are there programs which can print selected files as contact sheets without having to create pdf?

I use Bridge, because I work with file format ".nef" and Window explorer not support thus format.

    forget Windows !
buy Mac, or atleast intall a Hackintosh ( as i have done !) on your PC,
and just get rid of this problem. Macs show any type of image format ( not all, but all the very popular image formats PSD, jpeg, bmp, png ...) by default. And also a full screen preview without actually opening the image application (quicklook).

now to the point, prefer windows explorer. Bridge is good but slow.
best thing would be if windows explorer + Adobe Bridge = may be in future Windows ??

YESSSSS! Quicklook on the Mac is a fantastic QC tool for those who don't have dedicated comparing software. Simply select two (or more) files in Finder, hit spacebar, and then you can toggle between the two in position by using the arrow keys. This makes it easy to spot the changes between two files, before and after a type change for example. Works best when the two files are the same size.
