What's the plan now that the file sharing sites are being shuttered?

Are the torrents the only way to go? What other options are there?

i use kickass torents. and love it so much faster then regular file sharing. And so much easier to search for what I want.

I guess that the file sharing sites are an easier target for the Yanks. With torrents, there is no particular location to attack. Uploaded looks very good, hope they stick around.

    Torrents are better

I would rather use torrents anyway. file sharing was programs were never really good for software or movies.

    Vuze

I use vuze for torrents. It works great plus they offer ratings and comments so that u know youre not downloading viruses.

I'm with waxweazle, some new mode will arise. Torrents in the meantime. The fileshare sites made it almost too easy, after years of IRC and newsgroups.

i understood that PirateBay say new magnet urls are the future. I don't really understant what it means, though.

Not all the file sharing sites are down, though. Torrents aren't as handy as file sharing sites depending on how you access them. For example, I'd often use my phone to download small files I needed which, afaik, isn't possible with torrents.

I agree that other sites will pop up history has shown that. usenet, private trackers, are always being used.

To paraphrase star wars lol, I see rapidshare picking up slack, and a lot of other smaller Fileshare sites starting to flourish.

    Torrents

Torrents used to be great but with the bigger ones disappearing for the time being, even legal torrents are a lot more scarce than they used to be. I used to be able to find everything with 3 torrent sites, now I'm down to Googling torrents and weeding through the ones I know are bogus.

Since ten years, you cas use newsgroup and their sharing system.

It's undetectable, but you must pay for a subscription, high price.

still, it's the fatest i've seen.

till megaupload, so i guess we should go back, once again, or see which one will become the next megaupload.

it's so sad, I had lifetime accounts to both filesonic and megaupload. hopefully filesonic comes back eventually.....

megaupload was the best... i used to stream a lot of tv shows on sidereel and all the good links were megaupload, all gone now :(
