    I've always fancy the use the combination of snap to grid and pathfinder tricks to basic objects. From there I decide on how to create illustration and try to put effects of sort.

    Definitely the Pen tool and Effect tool. I've been using it since I started using Illustrator.

    the pathfinder tool definitely, since it's something no other adobe program really offers as readily

    If I had to name one that would pen tool, cause it is really efficient and once mastered its awesome.

    The Appearance tab and Live Trace for all those times a client brings you a resterized logo of their company.

    I find myself using offset path a lot to make under bases for printing

    Offset path for me too and the gap fix for dashed lines is nice.

    My favorite feature is Kuler can use it on color Swatch to Artwork. I can get so beautiful colors for my artwork. Also the mesh tool is pretty nice feature.
