Adobe Creative Cloud is in right now. I fondly remember using CorelDraw back in high school though!

I've never been a fan of corel draw, but I wouldn't say it's dead, it's simply not as mainstream as it once was. It's no more dead than quark when compared to indesign.

CorelDraw is good for filming. So i've heard. Or maybe it depends what setup is used.
If you ask me, i would choose Illustrator.

    Corel is fine

Not sure if I am a pro, but I won many logo contest and corel is my default graphic software. I use AI too but I am too old to learn AI deeper so I just stick with Corel.

All things Adobe are the industry standard. Corel Draw, though, is still used by some. For whatever reason it seems to have a foothold in the t-shirt design business (likely because these are small businesses with small budgets). If you are a student or business looking towards the future, Adobe is the way to go!

I graduated with my BFA in ComDes in 2009 and was never trained in Corel Draw... only Adobe CS. Loving the latest version of AI! :)

    CorelDraw

From my experience it's not used regularly in my area of the industry (digital design) but I have used it and I like it a lot.

Cool yes, i feel its true.

I had used Corel for Many Many years, and have since changed to Adobe.

Yes, i am a Professional in this field.

i am trying to think as i write this to why i changed...and i cant think of it...but i did...from what i can remember its was just the way times changed and what the market required..

Plus.. i can now do much more in Adobe. especially Bridging my work.

N of my graphic design courses ever mentid anything but Adobe products. I'm not sure if it's because Corel Draw is less popular or if Adobe had some sort of deal with my college.

    Corel

Well, many of us can say we are professionals, but in different levels. We are professional because we are living from this job. But in many prepress houses (at least in Mexico) avoid process CorelDraw files that cause postscript errors.
Personally dont think is the Corel itself, but the oversaturated and overused effects that Corel make it easy. Maybe if we make more simplistic designs (in all design software) more easy CTP and prints.
Since X5 uses CMS and PS support directly from Adobe, I suspect that follows an industry standard and make better prepress outputs.
I dont use Corel actually, I use AI, ID, QX, PS. I'll try if were a Mac version. I stop uses Corel on v 11. My all time favorite was Freehand MX.

I'm from Nicaragua and nobody uses CorelDraw! I've tried it a couple of times and it feels too sluggish for my taste
