I'm going to confirm that! Many people use software like Adobe Illustrator, just becouse its better and to me CorelDraw seems a little bit outdated...

It's true. I have never met graphic designers who use it. Adobe softwares are the most use.

Most International designers prefer Illustrator, although in my country CorelDraw is also a favorite for print .

I think there are many designers out there that use corel and other programs. It's just about being comfortable with your tools. Whatever they may be.

In Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, we are practising with Adobe illustrator. I think it is the most popular vector soft for designing singns and logos etc.

The easiest way to see for yourself is to go on a job board and look at the positions you'd ideally like to work. Many of them will tell you which software they prefer. However if you're freelancing it doesn't matter for the most part I've had one client want the AI file of an illustration. Regardless I'd suggest you learn the adobe programs as they are the industry standard and not all that hard.

    Not true

This is not true because Corel Draw is more used in printing comapanies for more technical tasks. On the other side, Illustrator is more used by creative branches of industry. In my opinion Corel is pretty solid software with pretty stupid flaws.. same as Illustrator

Some smaller agencies for example use it for uber-large prints on adhesive foil (length over 10 meters).
But just because Illustrator can’t handle this.
Disregarding this, I don’t understand why one shouldn’t switch over to Adobe (but please not CC! ) …

I've been told that some operations are considerably more difficult (or plain impossible) to perform in Illustrator, so many print shops still stick to CorelDRAW. For example, creating barcodes and serial numbers for tickers/gift coupons.

I still find Illustrator a much more straightforward experience, couldn't get used to Corel.

The only reason i use the adobe suite is because everybody here uses it... not because i like it more or its better...

If i'm sending files to someone and they can't open it i'll have a lot of problems... so i like to use the standard...

Down here (Argentina) printers use Corel Draw and graphic designers design on Illustrator (or at least, most of them).

Personally, I'm not even sure Corel Draw can even be installed on iOS, can it?

People are mostly using Illustrator, I've done a course of Corel and for what I can say Corel is not as complete as Illustrator. Most of the resourses avaliable on the Internet are for Illustrator, too.
