Tool to create geometric backgrounds from photos?

I've noticed this effect lately, which seems to be created by some tool, to create geometric images from photos. Any ideas on what that tool or approach might be?

    Code:

For instance, this image (from the link above) is clearly from a sunset photo, perhaps of a mountain skyline:

Any ideas on what to use to do this, in an automated fashion?

My sincere thanks for your thoughts.

    Thank you!

Thank you, linkgreencold! Both tools are free, quick, run in browsers, and are fun to do -- especially the Triangulator (a.k.a. "I ♥ ∆").

A more sophisticated method was made by Jonathan Puckey, with javascript in Illustrator:

You could also have a look at Delaunay triangulation at Wikipedia:

    Thank you

Thanks, NorthNode. Those are some great scripts for running a variety of visual effects.

FWIW, I found tutorials on how to run the scripts there, at: http://scriptographer.org/tutorials/

In second link, in fact in the download section you'll have to download a zip file containing an offline webpage, and open that file in firefox, drop your image into it and there you go. The algorithm is written in Javascript.
