    philosophers stone

Genuine Fractals is pretty much the standard app quoted for this, but your goal, not loosing any image quality at all, thats pretty much the philosophers stone of image editing, hence, impossible.

sometimes leaving the image at its given natural resolution yields better results than upsizing it in whatever tool out there. always depends on the source image.

Depending on a quality of original file Photoshop can increase safely up to 200-400% if you know how. With bit of the sharpening you can get decent enlargement. But as mentioned above Genuine Fractals is great plugin and does superb job for enlarging.

    PIXresizer

PIXresizer is a photo resizing program to easily create web and e-mail friendly versions of your images with reduced file sizes.
this is a Downsampling & Compressing tools....

    That's impossible.

You will always lose some quality.

Depending on the used software the loss is more or less.

I like to use for this Alien Skin Blow Up 3.

ive always used PhotoShop for this task, 'fixing' things as I go - however the idea that specifically written tools could do a better job is not crazy to me.

Definiately checking out one of these tools next time i need to massively enlarge something.

Using PhotoZoom Pro you can get very good results. I was impressive how it can resize small pictures (20-25cm) to big ones (100-120cm) without loosing to much quality.

    100% recommended

    Best regards,

If the image is to be printed and it is being viewed from a distance most large format rips i.e. Caldera can scale the image up.
