    print problems on oki c9650

We run oki c9650 printers in pay for print market. machines are very good, but prone to mottled light background on surfaced (coated) papers. Humidity and temerature seem to have an effect as the problem will disappear on cold dry days.

Any advice on this would be appreciated

Rubbish, rubbish printer. Awful aftersales, useless engineers. Basically, money wasted.

I have also this type of printer.

    1) I'm not using coated paper at all. There was always problem with that.
    2) Try to change papers, is always there?
    3) Control burn roller, there could be garbage, try to clean it.
    4) When the image drums are in the last period of life, good to change it

Now more than 6 months later we still have the same issues with the oki when using coated stocks. The callendared bonds (very shiny) work well and many of the more expensive papers design specifically for digital print work really well.

Several of our oki's have now done over a million prints. An excellent machine for the price tag.

We are now moving on to konica minolta c6000. I wish we had done this a long time ago

    Hi johnlongthomas,

We run oki c9850 and have the same issues.
We found refill toners make it much worse and have stuck to original toners.

    Uncoated stocks
There are coated stock for specially made for digital which we do use which print well. We use Sovereign Gloss Digital - supplied by KW Doggett in Australia.

And turning the air conditioning on helps as well.

We limit the printer to very small print runs as well as the colour is inconsistent in long print runs.
