    Behance

Behance is great! Not only for the exposure, also the amount of great projects to watch and thus for inspiration!

Behance might be fine for some outward facing communication, but don't send a Behance portfolio to a design studio. It's not viewed as professional.

If you have to use a hosting site, you want one that is as invisible, faceless, and unbranded as possible. Tumblr would actually go over better, for instance.

For graphic desingn Behance is the best in my opinion, for photo work or something like that, Flickr is great, Cargocollective is a great site too.

    Great portfolio site

Behance is great, especially for getting to know other designers/creatives.

I find dunked.com great for an actual portfolio website – there are 4 templates and they add new ones quite often. It's also very reasonably priced!

As far as I'm concerned, Behance is at the top, followed by Dribbble and CargoCollective.

If you wanna go really professional, you can always buy a domain and host it using Tumblr and lay your work nicely.

I currently have a self hosted wordpress site. I'm just wondering - for all of you that say Behance. What are the benefits of using this as opposed to your own website/domain?

Depends if you want to be seen as technical or not, as to whether you should have your own self-hosted and built website.

Squarespace, Behance, Cargo and for a specific purpose Dribbble, are all great.
