i just switched from a pc laptop to a macbook. And i gotta say even though the mac is more expensive, i'm happier with it. It's beautifully designed, the ios is more user friendly and because i don't need to work alot in 3D softwares or rendering softwares the hardware inside is more than enough. Although i upgraded from 4gb ram to 10gb.
I also think that the lifespan of a mac is longer and it's more an investment. If i want i can sell it in 2-3 years for good money. Couldn't do that with the windows laptop i had.

The Mac is much more stable. But if you buy a good PC the difference in speed is low. To me the big problem I find your Mac technical support: expensive, slow and sometimes inefficient.
As I once told a friend: "Buy the computer that are your friends." Great advice.

MAC hardware is made for the software. It is not like windows which is run by hardware manufactured by any company.
    This gives MAC an advantage.

I use hackintosh, because there are many beautiful applications for design.

    MAC vs PC

Well I flipflop between the 2 every year for support reasons.

They are equally as good, that said there are few tools available on the Mac only and few only available on the PC (Ie Freehand)

They both have strengths and its good to see it really doesn't matter anymore which is used.

OSX does have some issues with Print drivers due to a lack of infrastructure compared to the Windows Enviroment.

Linux has no use as it doesn't inherent support CMYK as a colour space.

    Regards John

I like to have the flexibility of upgrading certain components with ease. Just customization all over really if I choose to. PC ALL DAY!

when it comes to design / development, there is no argument or competition. They're both market leaders for different tasks.

I have been working simultaneously with mac and PC 15. If the PC is a good machine with mac the difference is minimal. A computer is a work tool and, therefore, is very important to the technical service. And the service of apple is harmful. I have a feeling that Apple users have never used a PC for a long time and vice versa. This is technology, not religion.

Before I got a Mac, I would always be attacked by viruses and slow hard drives. Now that I've switched to Mac, I don't really have computer problems anymore. The cost is worth it.
