    brown like chocolate

I Really love the brown font by Lineto, it look fresh and contemporary but with respect of the tradition!

Brown looks great, honestly almost any Lineto typeface looks fantastic. Too bad they're quite overused these days. Plus they cost a premium. I often find it hard to convince clients to spend upward of 600 euro's just to get 3 weights of a font for print and web. Especially for smaller clients it seems kind of unrealistic. Clients usually haven't the faintest that typefaces cost money in the first place, let alone that kind of premium.

That being said: my current favourites are Noe Display, Domaine Display, Dala Floda, Calibre and GT Walsheim. I worry that many of them are more trendy than timeless, though.

I've always had a love for the Johnston, be it the P22 version or the ITC version. Such an amazing typeface, especially considering it was first released in 1916! If you told people it came out yesterday I don't think anyone would question it.

Two Times Elliot (brilliant studio) made a gorgeous typespecimen for it:

Ditto, Brown is fantastic but quite expensive for commercial use.

    Frutiger

    One of the best: Frutiger.
Really simple but very functional design.

Recently I've been really missing Raleway. I should use it more often. Another favourite of mine is Jupiter Pro, but I'm super biased because they use it in all the marketing material of my main mmo :P

It's funny you mention Raleway. I was listening to the designer's (now-defunct) podcast, and Raleway is kind-of an afterthought for him now. He mentioned he gets emails from time to time requesting assistance, and he said something like "oh yeah, I kinda forgot about that…"

It was more an over-arching theme about releasing something for free on the internet to better the community (I think, it was awhile ago that I listened) but it still struck me as funny. I have a lot of friends and acquaintances that use Raleway, and the original designer doesn't even want to support it anymore.

Gotham and its rounded version are my go-to fonts for sans. In terms of serifs, Bodoni is quite nice.

+1 for Gotham Family. It is very elegant, readable and works well on and off screen.

    Whitney also has these qualities.
