Major Font Issues with Lion - Indesign CS5 - Fontagent Pro 4.202

    Hi Guy,

just bought a new machine which had Lion preinstalled, I did a clean install this time but can't get out of a big FONT mess:

    - Activated fonts don't show up in Indesign's font lists
    - I deinstalled Fontagent and tried it using Font Book but suddenly some fonts where visually replaced by other fonts (Right font name in Indesign was 'activated' but text is shown in other font)
    - Only way to get back to normal is Using Onyx to clear application and font caches

any ideas? other Font management software without troubles anyone?

    thank you!!!

What version of InDesign are you using? Maybe it needs to be updated?

    Try Linotype FontExplorer X

I was having font problems in CS5.5 and this cured them.
Not on Lion though, am on 10.6.8

I had issues with cs5 for a long time (fonts not showing under font menu)..

Installed cs5.5 and patched to latest version, and it seems to be a lot more stable.

    Ok!
sounds good, only problem is we have macs running CS5 under snow, So I guess that will complicate sharing Indesign files...

    Unfortunately yes..
NAtive CS5.5 files cannot be opened with CS5

You can however save the cs5.5 file as an .INX file, which should open.

Not Ideal I know, but may be an option if really stuck.
