I'm using Suitcase Fusion 3 on my iMac. Suitcase has always been my favourite font-app. But i'm not sure if i will run into problems when i upgrade my CS4 to CS5.5 (or maybe even 6). So i will keep an eye on this topic in case i need alternatives.

    Linotype FontExplorer X

with the plug-in for indesign illustrator, Quark etc...
It's the best way to manage temporarely fonts and fonts in generaly. i never had any conflict. The perfect manager for fonts. I've tried suitcase fusion but i'm convinced by Fontexplorer.
Sorry for my English i'm french.

Just open font on PC (font will be temporary installed) if you don't want to install fonts, then open application... work perfectly on XP and Win7... after work just close application and then close font window :)

    You've tried the rest...

...now meet the best - FontExpert 2011.

Warp speed light-years ahead of any other Windows font manager on the market.

Comes with excellent manual - read it to get a full understanding of just how amazing this prog is.

Then USE it, and sleep like you haven't slept in years, knowing your fonts are all organized, and most importantly - error-checked, searchable, viewable, accessible and usable in all your DTP apps.

We use Universal Type Client 3.0.1. Very happy about having a unified server for our workstations. It makes management so much easier!

I also use this one but there's a shortcoming to it. If you happen to have a lot of fonts activated, FontXplorer may take quite a while to launch.

Activating too many fonts is just unnecessary anyway as it slows down every software that lists them.

If you need to browse and test samples of fonts, it's faster to do that within FontXplorer.

Used properly, it's a very useful software.
