After i read all good comments about Extensive's Suitcase, i tried it. And it was the latest version.
No quick peak over not installed fonts, great minus that makes it not worthy. I am really disappointed about it.

I stick to the unbeatable MainType (even if i use an old version 2.4 of it). Plus Suitcase4 is more expensive than MainType.

I use Suitcase Fusion. Mostly due to the fact that I use it at work and am familiar with it.

I've tried about every tool available. But I'm always back to Suitcase Fusion (win8 user).

Suitcase Fusion. No other stuff is better than this . Easy to turn on and off, you can group up some fonts for specific project.

    Mountain Lion user of course

I used to use FontExpert 2011, but switch to Suitcase Fusion 4 not long ago. I think Suitcase Fusion 4 is a lot better.

Im currently using suitcase fusion 4.

Its ok but its not ideally what id like a font management program to do.

In an ideal world i would have a program that looked and worked much like the adobe typekit webpage https://typekit.com/fonts

I like the easy to use GUI of that site - anything like that available as a standal desktop app??!?

I'm on Windows 8 so I use MainType. Simple and works well.

    Smile Suitcase fusion

    IS THE BEST FOR OSX

Quote Originally Posted by blast9999 View Post
Suitcase was always the mainstay of OS9 on Mac, and we continued to use it into the OSX era, but a couple years ago we stopped using Suitcase and started using Font Book, the built-in OSX app. It took some getting used to, but I prefer using Font Book now. It seems simpler. It copies a set of the fonts to your user/Library/Fonts folder which can easily be deleted. I like that.
Suitcase had the feature of loading fonts temporarily, which seemed handy when dealing with different versions of the same font where reflow would occur when using the wrong version of Helvetica, for example. Not really useful enough to keep using Suitcase.
Also Suitcase had the ability to open fonts automatically when using the plug-in for your app. This may be handy for some, but I prefer to load them manually.
Any other reasons to not use Font Book?
I would like to have an app where I can quickly scan thru the same character in a number of fonts to help match a font or get something I like (without using the online font guessing sites). Or browse fonts based on style, i.e., serif, script, etc.
Is there any app out there for that?
