I find that FontExplorer works well for me. Have only about 20 typefaces active at all times and the rest are sorted into client folders which are activated as needed. Makes my mac run a lot smoother and loads creative suite a lot faster

I am using MainType, quite good app. But it is a little bit slow. Still good enough for me.

I use Adobe fontfolio its pretty good for Pc and Suitcase for Mac, actually found on mac if you use too many fonts without it starts replacing system fonts.

i have problems with font families that don't want to group together as a family

    fontbook is no help there
fontforge works but take way too long to change the family names
i just want a software that can change the meta data fast and easy

For basic needs (98% of all my basical workflow) the fontbook from every macos hardware is the most efficient tool : pretty, light, speed. Why choose something else?
