If you don't know of particular need that would be fulfilled by 5.5 release I wouldn't bother.

Well, Illustrator CS4 is officially EOL, so it will not receive any more upgrades. One other difference between 5 vs 5.5 is support cycle. I guess because 5.5 is a later version it will be supported somewhat longer. However, I have not yet been able to find a support cycle table on adobe site. Has anyone seen it?

That's sort of what I mean... they market it as if you don't own CS5. So, they include most of the features from CS5 as if they are new in CS5.5. I don't know how anyone could make a valid purchasing decision based on the information provided on the web site.

I upgraded to 5.5 - no real difference as others have said - support for moblie development, better use of quad processors. I might be just my machine but have a few issues of photoshop freezing since upgrade and illustrator takes forever to exit. I'll put up with it for now until CS6.

Most Interest of CS 5.5 Indesign

... is feature that self installs fonts in "Document fonts" folder that created by Pakage command. That means you don't need to do that and don't care what fonts are used in document that you received from client.
