Do not select the professional work with low price!

If you want to work together with the other peoples pls use Adobe!

Corel Has a lot of built in driver like code for plotters, etc. So for signguys (Like me) it's a boon. I run a laser machine directly from Corel with a driver software.

I learned on Illustator... having said that, if I had learned on Draw, I'd probably like it a lot more than illustrator. My two cents. :)

I am from Viet Nam, and most of the printing shops over here (or most of the ones I have access to and frequently visited anyway) uses Corel DRAW as the main vector (reading) program. Some quality printing shops have both Illustrator and CorelDRAW, but the cheaper ones tend to have CorelDRAW only. My teacher said that CorelDRAW is favorable among Vietnamese firms because of its low price, but the program is slowly becoming outdated in his opinion. In the recent years, many firms had started to drop CorelDRAW and use Illustrator as a replacement, so that's a sign :) Like many comments before me, I think Adobe is the industry standard nowadays.

Personally, I prefer Illustrator over CorelDRAW. I have been using Photoshop a long while before moving onto vector programs, so I'm obviously more fond of Illustrator because it have similar workspace and functionality. CorelDRAW is just.. out of this world for me lol. I actually attended classes that teach CorelDRAW and I failed so hard at it.. Oh well.

Some of the printing still using Corel Draw for their basic setting. *sigh*
Not that I dislike Corel as vector software, if there's any choices I would prefer Adobe Illustrator of course :)

I must agree. That is quite an inconvenience and not the industry standard.
