    Best for graphics

I Use Corel for some layouts, but when i need to create a more elaborated work i use Ilustrator, because its more simple with all the disponibles efects.

you can not compare apples with pears. Corel is very good and easy for vector. alternative illustrator from adobe. For bitmap photoshop ist the powerfullest program. Corel Photopaint can not keep up. indesign is good to, but it is only for layout. not for edit bitmap or vector

    Illustrator

I used Corel Draw for years, even used Freehand... I strong believe that Illustrator is now the TOP software for all works. Core Draw just can't get large files and MS Windows does not help, even using a Mac with bootcamp.

IF you use X6.2 64 bit then it would be great for large files.

Yes, illustrator has got few very good features for prepress which is not in CorelDRAW. Dynamic linked images (PDF included) and Seperation Preview.

I hope CorelDRAW will bring seperation preview in next version. But X6 has hot a new ColorStyles. It is very useful for controling colors on objects in document.

Man does not discuss about tastes...

I am keen on learning corel although I would never stop using Illustrator because it is the most stable program on the whole planet :) Seriously.. and you've got a bunch of extensions for illustrator. I just like how corel handles colors...

    Cheers
