Is, in my opinion, one of the most brilliant concepts of brand - logo, name all together..
For you that dont know - NIKE - in old Greek mythology is the goddess who personified victory.
As said before.. this brand is a powerful concept all together..
This logo has many meanings. Firstly, cigarette papers were made with standard paper for a while then a change by the company to producing them from rice paper became a success.
The Company was LaCroix Rolling Paper Company. The French for 'rice' is Riz.
The translation of LaCroix is 'The Cross'
"Company founder Marc Ewing was given the Cornell lacrosse team cap
(with red and white stripes) while at college by his grandfather. He lost it and
Had to search for it desperately. The manual of the beta version of Red Hat
Linux had an appeal to readers to return his Red Hat if found by anyone!"
"The house of Chanel was established in 1910 by Gabrielle Bonheur “coco” Chanel; one of the prominent fashion designers of the time. She revolutionized women’s wear and set forth new standards for the contemporary style. With time, Chanel as the corporate name became the symbol of elegance and synonymous with wealth and elitism. It set the standards for international fashion industry. The log was designed by Coco herself in 1925 and has remained unchanged ever since. It is one of the most recognised symbols in the fashion industry and is frequently visible on purses, shoes, accessories and perfumes."
My favorite logo of all time is the Milwaukee Brewers' in the 80s...
I like it when logos have meaning - when I get asked to design a logo, it takes me weeks sometimes to sit and find meaning in something.
Thanks for the post
Although I have to say that the best logos are the ones that don't need an explanation at all.
So true about FedEx... now that I've seen it, that's all I see.
Toblerone bear was awesome too!
