Typography is an art. I couldn't agree more. It is pretty sad how some of my school mates think typefaces are only typefaces I treat them as friends and people with unique personality.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the share. I still love sifting through typefaces for a new project.
Great read, Very inspirational. Kilm type foundry also has some nice readings on type.
Just as a color represents a certain mood or feeling, a typeface does. This also explains why i in the "what is the best…" posts, state that such answer is just not that easy.
I started designing typefaces myself some years back. I was never satisfied as there is always something that can be more beautiful og work better. It is an ever ongoing process which you have to end now and then…to finish your font.
Typography is definitely art!
yeah, the difference between choosing the right font and the wrong, is what decides if it's a sell or not.
Sometimes typography related to science maybe because it's many rules like Stroke, Apex/Vertex, Arm, Ascender, Barb, Beak, Bowl, Bracket, Counter, Cross bar, Cross stroke, Crotch, Descender, Ear, Em/en, Finial, Leg, Ligature, Link, Loop, Serif, Shoulder, Spine, Spur, Stem, Stress, Swash, Tail, Terminal and THE GOLDEN SECTION.
But for me, typography is an art :)
but how do you know when you've arrived at the right one?
often for me it comes at exhaustion :)
