Best software to make your own fonts

    Hello,
I'm new to this world, and I would be glad to receive advise on the best software to produce fonts (powerful, but still easy to use). Thanks!

    Fontlab Studio

Fontlab Studio, lots of tutorials out there, easy to use once you get to know it.

    Fontographer, Fontlab & Glyphs.

In the 80's & 90's it was Fontographer followed by FontLab mid naughties and now Glyphs which is absolutely fantastic if you're serious about creating from scratch.

Fontlab is where it's at… even if the interface is somewhat clunky.

Always used Fontographer... great soft, helped me often to get through bad jobs with crappy (PC) free fonts!

yeah the interface can really destroy the fun in working with a program, but we also got taught to use it at Uni, so it can't be as bad as it looks ;)

I great combination I found was Illustrator with FontLab. I draw the roughs out in Illustrator than simply paste it into FontLab and tweak the kerning. Hope this helps!

Font Lab Studio, though it has a bit of a learning curve.

Same here, I just found my love for font. Although I'm not the thread starter, I'm very thankful for the suggestion. I'll try play with the software.
