I use Suitcase Fusion 3 and at certain moments it activates ALL my fonts. So, having thousands of fonts in the database activated all at the same time is like having a snail instead of a 12 cores MacPro. Anybody has the same problem?
By the way deactivating them takes more or less half an hour.

Early used FontExplorerX but the auto-activation plugin with CS3 and CS4 was sluggish. Nearly all of the time ended activating fonts manually....

    Some better choices there??

Insider Software FontAgent 4 Pro + Smasher for font and cache maintenance.
Just noticed this got an update to v5, hmm. I guess this an update for Adobe CS6 auto-activation plug-ins. I don't use these at all myself.

ADD: "FontAgent Pro 5 is Mountain Lion, CS6 ready"

This is my last experiment with Mountain lion here :

Font explorer x pro 3.5 is for me the best for a lot of excellent ideas :

    – adobe suit plug in,
    – font sheet for checking font on paper,
    – auto cleaning of the library/

    can't work without it.

Much more stable and fast than suitcase fusion 3 (with which i worked before).

    Suitcase Fusion 4 definitely:

    - integrates perfectly with Adobe suite
    - auto activates and deactivates the fonts when you quit one of Adobe software
    - doesn't requires much hardware resources

For a professional one, I prefer to Suitcase Fusion, and Font inside of the MAC OS.
Since ever before ATM(Adobe Type Manager) was also a choice, but now is out of fashion.
