I haven't tried many others, but we use NexusFont at work and at home I just use the built in for Macs. Both seem to suit me just fine, though with over 4000 fonts Nexus can get a little slow when first loading.

I definitely think that Suitcase Fusion is worth the my. I like the fact that the plug ins will re-activate inactive fonts if I open an older doc. I don't have it, yet, but I've heard great things about it and this feature.

I'll have to look into this Extensis Fusion program, but my at my old internship they used Universal Type Client (which is by Extensis).

Suitcase Fusion is the best for standalоnе computer, but if you have some design-computers - to use Universal Type Server will be better.

I'm using a free called NexusFont! I am not sure if it has the features you are looking for but it works really well for me.
