    Best image resize software

    Hey,

What plugin/software would you recommend for image resize (enlargement for print)?

    Thanks a lot!

I used to have one (sorry forgot the name) in the past but didn't notice any improvement over what you can do in photoshop.

In photoshop, image> image size > select Bicubic Smother from the bottom drop down menu. Then do some unsharp mask.

I´ve tried with decent results enlarging by 10% steps and applying bicubic interpolation without losing much detail

Couldn't be without this exceptional and totally Free tool...IrfanView

Genuine fractals for Photoshop often does the job well.

We used Alien Skin BlowUp and it was very good. Similar to genuine fractals, runs as a Photoshop plugin.

I have been using SmillaEnlarger for quite a while, does a great job of enlarging images without pixelating:

    Try Fotosizer
    http://www.fotosizer.com/Download.aspx
it support batch resizing and many useful features, such as resize by percentage of width and height, maintain aspect ratio, change image quality

Also, there's a pro version available with more advanced batch resizing, color adjustment, etc..

Has anyone heard of the technique of using enlarging in Photoshop where you you increase the image size 110% at a time and it's a good technique? I had a teacher in college who swore by it but I don't know if it was ever necessary to step-it or not.

Alien Skin Blow Up is pretty good. Noise Ninja is good to reduce noise after enlarging.
