    Open Source Barcode Fonts

    Hi there,

If you only need a small amount of barcodes - I would recommend looking at the free, open-source barcode fonts at
    HTML Code:
Only the registered members can see the download links/content. pleaseĀ Register to gain full access.
You would need some sort of program to calculate the checksum and select the characters needed for the barcode. The site has a program that does this conversion, so for small quantities of barcodes that would not be a problem.
The site also has source-code samples in many programming languages (including a VB which can be used in excel or word). If you are really technically inclined - I'm sure that it wouldn't be too difficult to create a script in Indesign too.

Barcode Producer is definitely the best standalone barcode creator. Excellent export options, custom bar width options etc.

Another good one is Easy Barcode Creator. It doesnt have as many options as Barcode Producer but it supports many different barcode formats and exports to your vector program very well.

I use CodeBarre X for Mac.
Not a great application, but it's free and works fine for me.
You enter the code and it save an .AI or .EPS file for you.

    It's downloadable from this address:

Corel Barcode creator running as standalone - without running Corel DRAW. ... and simple paste to Illustrator. After that u must change the colors of bars and numbers to Black (they have RGB black from all 4 CMYK colors ) and export as EPS for InDesign ...

U need to install OCR-B 10 BT font to your system ...

    Corel Barcode standalone

"Corel Barcode creator running as standalone" - I was lookin' at Corel site but couldn't find anything similar, or I'm just too tired to see? Maybe you could give some URL.
But on the other side one can get good quality EPS from free on-line generator. My specific interest are QR codes.
Maybe some has workin serial for Barcode Producer (PC) v5.* ? Thanks

You cannot install Corel BAR CODE Wizard without installing Corel Draw - but you don't need to run Corel Draw everytime when you need create Barcode. Just find "Barcode.exe" in Corel draw install folder e.g. (C:\Program Files\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4\Programs) and run it as standalone ...

Corel BAR CODE Wizard drop the EAN code to clipboard ... but you can't paste barcode to indesign - u must paste it to illustrator and export.
