I just did some quick ebay research... you can get a nice, used Intuos 3 medium-sized tablet for 90 dollars. The Intuos 5 medium-sized tablets retails for close to three hundred.

Don't get any replica of Wacom, nothing comes close to the quality and reliability of Wacom.
That being said, even the older Wacom tablets are great, my old Intuos 2 still works and almost as good as Intuos 5!
Unless you really want the bells and whistles (like express keys, touch wheel etc, )there is no need for updating... because you can't really avoid using Keyboard even with all the custom keys, so the combination of keyboard on left hand and wacom on right hand works great (for right hand person).

It is important you start with an entry level model and work your way up. The transition from mouse to tablet can be a bit jarring :(

    Problem with Pen

Is there any way to repair the wacom pen?

    Do they sell them separately?

    thanks!
