I like Autodesk Maya... it's the industry standard...

The choice also depends on what is your aim.. if you just want to design some 3D for you, then choose whatever you want. Free are for example: Google SketchUp, Cinema 4D, Blender...

If you would like to work for some company doing 3D models, then check requirements for some job in the field you wanna work. This way you can be better prepared and fit into the company's pipeline.

I use 3DS Max or Maya. It depends on the commission but I generally build models in 3DS Max and do VFX with Maya.

Agree that Cinema4D is the best for OSX... wish that 3ds max would come as a mac version though....

Cinema 4D. It's the best choice and integration with Adobe Illustrator and After Effects.

    I would say Cinema 4D.
It's easier to learn than Maya and you can have really great results.

3DS Max doesn't run on Mac OS

Depends on what you want to do with it - VFX? CGI? Animation? Go for Maya.. If motion graphics and graphic design C4D should be enough ))

I would say Cinema4D and The foundry Modo is the best 3D Application on Mac.
Because The application is running stably and also has very intuitive interface on it.

Cinema 4D is easier to learn if you have already done 3D (I learned on SoftImage XSI on PC before working on OSX, then I tried Maya). You can have great results with this software.

On the other hand, Blender is freeā€¦ (but I definitely don't get the logic of this software )

Another question : Does someone knows some websites to get free models or materials for Cinema 4D ?

    Thanks !
