Wink bleed problems in pdf

hi guys i am new to this website. found this very interesting since i am also from prepress. Most of the time i get pdf files without bleed. If it is only vector objects with gradient or fills i can extend the bleed in pitstop but not images. Is there any third party plugin which extends even images.

I doubt that such plugin exists. At my work maximum that we can do with this pdf files: 1) reduce trim size for bleed value; 2) proportionally scaled (increase) pages for bleed value. Otherwise reject files to customers.
Fix bleeds with pitstop - is masochism :). Very often it is impossible to do because there are many masks at page border in pdf.

First of all, I think you should post this thread in General Discussion, Graphic Design Section.
Back to your question, I am not aware of any Acrobat plugin for this purpose, however you may find onOne Perfect Resize 7 (which is a Photoshop plugin/Standalone application hybrid) as a quick workaround, look for Gallery Wrap feature.

The only solution i see is to select each image and apply a small scale with pitstop.

Hey

You can do it very easilly :)
When you open Acrobat pro, find touch up object tool. Click on image and with right click open it in Photo Shop, there you can resize you image, put canvas size or copy-paste a part of an image with rectangular marque tool or you can just simply use clone stamp tool. After that, just save it(File-Save) and that is it, you managed to put bleed on your picture :)

In Acrobat Pro go to file-properties and it should tell you the application in which it was created in. I have found that way to be the easiest way to edit the file. Worse case scenario use Coreldraw. It can open PDFs and it also gives you more choices.
