Trip to Canada [REQUEST FONT SUGGESTIONS]

    Hi Community,

I'm new to this forum, so first of all...hello everybody!

Of what I have seen so far I'm really excited about the kind of things I'll be able to learn from you all and hopefully I can help contribute if I'm able to.

A friend of mine is out in Canada right now for a season of snowboarding and whatnot. Whilst he's out there he will be filming lots of content to make a short film with me once he gets back next year.

I would like to refrane from using the most commonly used sans-serif typefaces such as Helvetica, Gotham, Proxima Nova, DIN etc.

I was wondering if anybody here has any suggestions of typefaces that I should look into using.

    Thank you for your time,
    Louise

Did you want a sans-serif font family in particular? I've been liking Pluto Sans a lot, it's geometric but pretty friendly also.

    Check out foundries sites.

Here are some who sell modern fonts from good quality:

    http://www.optimo.ch/
    http://www.swisstypefaces.com/
    http://www.emigre.com/

It may take a while before you saw everything but it gives you a good idea about what is made these days.

Could you give us any more detail as to what type / feeling you're going for in the film? I think to recommend a typeface we'd need to know a bit about what you're aiming for.

As above said though, check out some of the nicer foundries out there – people like Swiss Typefaces, Klim, Bold Monday, Hoefler Frere-Jones are some of my favourites.

    Good luck!

as it's for snowboard you could try fat strong typefaces from :

http://www.lucasfonts.com - Taz or The Sans if you prefer a more modern look

    or

    http://www.typography.com/fonts/nitro-turbo/overview/ - Nitro & Turbo or http://www.typography.com/fonts/forza/overview/
