    iPad question

My friend has an iPad Mini. I don't know the first thing about 'em, but she was complaining that it's a lot slower than it used to be. So my question is: In a similar way to a PC where one should occasionally clear out the .tmp files, browser history, cookies, downloads etc........are there such files/folders that should be cleared out on an iPad on a regular basis?

    Thanks.

    Hi Speeker,

You can clear all your browser history, cookies etc. through the options under Settings>Safari.

iOS is very different to Mac OSX let alone Windows.

Something that might help speed things up a little is to close down any apps not currently being used. The speed up the launching of an application, after an app has been opened it is then only minimised if you switch to another app.

If your friend unlocks their iPad then double clicks on the home button, it will show them all of the apps running in the background at that moment. If they swipe the preview of each app off towards the top of the display they will close down...providing more processing resources elsewhere.

Hope this helps your friend out,
    Louise

Probably the best thing to do is have her back it up in iTunes and then set it up as a new iPad. She can then reload what she wants on it. If she doesn't want to do that, she can use the back up to restore it and see if that helps.
