How to identify a font type

A lot of time I need to indentify a printed font. Is very easy with this website:

    www.whatfontis.com

You only have to scan the font and upload to website. Easy and fast!

Also, if it's a webfont you can look for it in the source code, from the css.

find my font is great use your own fonts and an online lookup
has a tool to slice script fonts for comparison etc.
and the asking price is very reasonable, get the pro version
it is a real time saver here were I work

www.typophile.com/typeid is pretty good. What the font is usually the fastest forum, but their automatic identifier tool is usually wrong for all but the most common fonts.

I agree, typophile is usually the most accurate (and provides other great info regarding the font or family or related fonts as well)
