    i'd typically stumble arround for half an hour try to check my favorite foundries, or my list of fonts that i'd like to use in a project. after that i qickly try some basic phrases in some fontmanagment programm so see how it feel with the context. and bäng! great stuff .... the rest totally happens by accident (and occasional skill ;) )

    I just preview mine in FontExplorer, then I scale it to how I like it.

    Probably I use MyFonts to find the best fonts, also I use dafont.com as an alternative

    Always consider the audience, the media, the subject and the client. You might be inclined to use something fun when the client or subject really call for something more sedate.

    Search for material already done for similar subjects or types of projects (newspapers, magazines, web sites, ads, etc.) to get an idea of industry standards and get some inspiration.

    Best way to find font for current projects are;

    1) Look on myfonts for tags:
    A lot of people have tagged and categorised fonts indicating that the fonts could be used for a particular type of work. (e.g. Fashion tag, list will come up)

    2) Always look at samples, for example, pick up magazines, posters, banners, ads.
    Look at the font, study it. It is a serif, sans serif, script, etc... Once you have your project in mind, go back to the first point or the next.

    3) Ask here

    All the best
