I highly recommend typefaces designed by Hipopotam studio.
They specialize in children books design.
I recommend you "CornFed".
hello, maybe this work? for book story child kind?
and it is time for comeback
I love Aunt Mildred... It's got the classic serif look but in hand drawn style!
I've been addicted to Lady Rene lately - it's fun and kind of whimsical. Lots of fun glyphs to play with too.
What about any of the KG fonts from Kimberly Geswein? Most have a handwritten and some a kiddish style..
Grandma by HVD font is really great. Or you can try la boite graphicque, cultivated mind foundry, maybe la goupil too. I think they have the greatest cute fonts for children books.
Archive from Colophon has some nice classic children's book qualities: http://www.colophon-foundry.org/fonts/archive/roman
This is a favourite of mine for more playful applications:
Castledown by Colopfon-foundry
What about Contemporary Brush?
what comes first to my mind is ff prater, it is a while out there, but it still has some nice charecters and potetial to use it in different ways
My fauvorite is this one:
FF speak by Jan Maack is a nice youthful conversational font, comes rounded too for extra child feel
