Good font suggestions for childrens bookstore?

Something playful - but not too cartoony - any ideas? I like Maiden Orange - but need some options :)

Have you tried Proxima Nova Soft (the rounded one) ?

Alternatively, there seem to be a lot of Latinotype fonts that look and feel similar to Maiden Orange

I'd go with The Carpenter by Fenotype. A nice clean, semi-playful script. Your thoughts?

Maybe Helvetica Rounded or VAG Rounded? I know you said "not cartoony," but this might be one of the cases where Comic Sans is somewhat appropriate!

Maiden Orange would be really cute, as would Children One (and many of the recommended fonts on that page!)

If you wanted to do something with a quirky/handmade vibe, Lunchbox or Lunchbox Slab could work too:

I'd go with some HVD fonts like Embryo, Mikado, Grandma.
Pluto and Supria are a bit more serious but still quite playful, especially in the bolder weights.

    Bookeyed Nelson

I think something like Bookeyed Nelson by Tart Workshop would be cute for a children's bookstore. It's kind of old-fashioned and playful.

Pink Mouse (while somewhat cartoony) may work. I think it would be appealing.
