    Fonts that go well together?

Mine would be Brandon Grotesque and Eames Century Modern. Simply perfect. (I believe Comedy Central's using those two for their identity.)

Dalton Maag's Effra for body text and Lexia as a display/headline font.

A good rule of thumb is to combine fonts that share similar characteristics. Jessica Hische has an incredible article on this topic:
    http://jessicahische.is/talkingtype

    Choose a Super-Family.
Choose Typefaces from the same type designer.
    Choose typefaces with similar characteristics.

Mine would be Trade Gothic and Archer, btw :)

The H&FJ "suggested pairings" are all very nice, even though it's all pairings between their own fonts

    Lyon Text + Sweet Sans

    or, alternatively,

    Spinoza + Akkurat

The retro fonts "cartoon" work well with ultra bold serif typefaces.
For example "Swung Note" with "Mayonez"

    Swung Note:

    Mayonez
