I'm obsessed with using bold condensed fonts for headlines.

Benton Condensed, Franklin Gothic Condensed, Heroic Condensed.

Some free options are League Gothic, Franchise, Ostrich and Bebas Neue.

Slightly similar options, although maybe less sophisticated, would be Tiempos Headline (also by KlimType/Kris Sowersby) or Publico Banner.

In condensed version, Founders Grotesk for large headlines looks great, IMHO.

Go with a large display font that was created relatively recently, as these will look better on modern printers and particularly screen.

Try foundries like Klim (Domaine is particularly nice)

Graphik is one of my favs

GRAPHIK from Commercial Type is always a great contemporary approach, specially the Bold and Stronger weights :)

Any grotesque font is great. My favorite is Galano Grotesk.
Also, I'm really liking Muli for titles these days :)
