It depends of the type of wedding. Handwriting fonts(scripts) are overused.

I do agree handwritten fonts are overused for weddings, and I would personally go for sth bold and sans x) But if you are going for that perhaps try a script like Rough Love or Hummingbird, heave you heard of those?

Cantoni, Bombshell, & Carolyna are all very lovely, but have been quite over-used IMHO as of late. Laura Worthington's Adorn is absolutely stunning for wedding applications, though.

I prefer to stay classic in a sense that i dislike using handwritten or cursive typography, makes the whole thing a little bolder. For special occasions I would do the lettering myself, and sometimes use a simple sans without much personality and pair it with something like Hummingbird or Ondise.

If you want some upright, can you try Scritta Nuova.

If you want classic classic without falling into Zapfino, you have the Shelley Hands that are quite beautiful (used them myself for wine labels)

    Try Liebe–

It depends on the vibe you're going for. For my Save-the-Date I used LiebeKlara and LiebeOrnaments. I wish I'd used something similar for the actual invites.

I just designed a Boarding-Pass-style wedding invite with good old FagoNormal for some friends. They are really fun to be around and met each other on a flight.
My brother is getting married this summer as well and for him and his fiance I'm using a combination of wood and lacy backgrounds with "very berry". It really depends on what kind of couple is getting married...

I'd go with something unconventional (compared to script fonts): http://www.typography.com/fonts/archer/overview/
