The "Clarendon" and "Bree" fonts are very suitable for editorial work. Faces and easy to read. They are also very extensive.
Thank you all for the precious help! I'm gonna make a few tests with 4 or 5 fonts from your tips and will shortly let you know which one is the winner :)
I have a lot of issues that limited my choice. The letter size must be bigger than usual (the majority of elder people have vision problems), the paper texture and color kills a lot of fonts, the print quality, and so on...
That's why I wanted to get from you some tips, to ensure I would get the best font for this particular project.
Cheers to everyone!
guardian sans can be the best choice :)
What good! I did not.
I think that legendary Garamond is still the best, I preffer URW variant.
Zapf's Melior is a superb newspaper font.
If it's a "young" newspaper (or at least not too tradicional) Conduit ITC works great for me.
Quite a biggish family, good X with and, as a bonus, it's "italic" style is gorgeous!
I also did a Newspaper design already and i can recommend Caslon
I once used Freight Text Pro for a publication and it worked very well.
