SCREEN machines have made a very good reputation for beeing reliable.
Also the cost of ownership and maintenance is very reasonable. My company has owned several of them and we were more than pleased with the build quality and the exposed plates. Still, I arguably can stand that Heidelberg has by far the best software and RIP
... technology of the future is definitly not thermal, although its exposure quality is still the best. For anything above 1000 plates per month conventional UV technology is more economicaly justified.
We have bought Heidelberg Topsetter 3 years ago, with cca, 120.000 plates burned. Today we have almost 200.000 plates and no problems... Serviceman said that we have machine in almost perfect condition. We have 2 times yearly maintenance by serviceman and thats it. We have changed the Clamps on every 20.000 plates. Thats all cost of maintenance.
I Heidelberg Topsetter is Screen machine.
I have never heard that someone have problems with Screen thermal CTP...
so, Screen rules...
I have experiance with Kodak and Lusher.
My opinion is that Lusher is better. Less service
Fuji for violet
Screen for thermal
I have used SCREEN, FUJI, KODAK... and the winner with no shadows on the others is HEIDELBERG.... :)
I have worked on Heidelberg (Prosetter and Suprasetter) and Lusher Xpose 130 with UV diodes. Liked the Lusher much more. Just when I remember a plate jam in a Heidelberg it gives me a headache. :)
