    Problem with RIP screen angle

I' having problems with the ecrm rip and my CTF imagesetter, MAKO3600.

Right now I'm using ecrm 6.2, but I have the 8.3 rip to try (but I'm having the same problem)

The thing is that I'm printing a quadtone, in 2540 dpi and 100 lpi (monochromatic), but when I print it (or film it, don't know how to say it in english) the screening or lpi are different in every color (C=105, M=105, Y=115, B=105) with Harlequin Precision Screening, and without it, the lpi are C=97, M=97, Y=100, B=97.... I don't know if this difference is normal or not, but I'm having a lot of problems with this...

Now I've tried with 1200 dpi and 100 lpi and having the same problem, someone can help me?
(I've tried with monochrome and CMYK configuration, and having the same issues)

By the way, my native language is Spanish, so if you can help my in that language I don't have any problem, and for the same reason, sorry for my bad English.
    Thanks!

Have you tried setting the screen angles in the program you are printing from?

yeah, now I'm trying to set the same angles for the different colors, and see if there are any differences...

    ----------------------------------------

I've print with the same angle the 4 colors, and they don't have the problem, all have the same lpi...
    What can I do?

Your ECRM RIP is basically Harlequin RIP. In any RIP can turn to ignore the settings in the file. Depending on your needs you can specify screen angle, lpi. I can not remember the exact location of adjustments. I assume that the page setup or layout under screen or something like that.

I need in all colors the same LPI.

Now I've found that if I send the file from freehand, it doesn't print with that problem, but with Illustrator cs5 i have the problem...

    don't worry about that,
    use rip recommended value.

it's impossible to have same value.
if you like to have moire free image, dots must be oriented according screen algorithm

PD: If I try the same configuration, but with 1000 dpi and 100 lpi, gives me the same error, and if I try With both, 2540 and 1000 dpi, and 100 lpi but with CMYK configuration, gives me the exact same error.

with this setting you will rasterize monochrome to monochrome. Finaly RIP will generate 1 chanel bitmap. Please, show CMYK setting and screenshot from ROOM PROOF

Thanks to kazanchi I've fixed the problem, where it should be 100 lpi it giving 102, but in every color the same, so I'm perfect with that.
The only thing that I've changed it in the HPS (Harlequin Precision Screening) where it was 15-75-0-45 and change it to 7.5-67.5-22.5-37.5 (he told me that this was perfect for flexo, and he was right :D)

Thanks a lot to him and everybody who try to help me :D.... I'll keep searching for the perfect configuration.

    THANKS A LOT!
    ------------------------------------------------
    EDIT:
This works for me but only in freehand, in illustrator didn't... so I'll try again with the new helps :D

    there is two option
    1. Program send information to rip. You choose screen angle in program
    2. RIP decide what screen angle to use.

Please don't use Color Setup: it's not necessary

In your case you print quad tone images separation
Separations: is critical in your case
If you check overide angle in job RIP will choose which angle to assign to which color plate
In your case rip only know for CMYK angle all other will be printed at 45 degree.
    that is you problem
You can click in this dialog box
Field edit selected row -> new ad add name off color and assign screen angle.
this is impractical if you print a lot different duo-tons (quad-tons)

for you is best other solution. To print to postscript file from illustrator, and to assign in illustrator screen angle

you will see in rip window, real screening value

    and in roam preview
