    Trendsetter 400/800 (TG947+ except TG1046-1095, TTxxx) Plate Loading Position Guide
    1. BACKGROUND
    For serial number TG0947 and higher (except TG1046 to TG1095), and TTxxx, there are four registration blocks on the Kodak® Trendsetter® 400/800 platesetter drum that are used for registering a plate. For proper registration, the plate must sit on two of the blocks. The registration block combination that a plate must sit on depends on the subscan size (width) of the plate.
    This document describes how to determine the loading position for different plate sizes. It applies to Trendsetter 400/800 III base, AL, and CL devices with serial number TG0947 and higher except TG1046 to TG1095, and to Trendsetter Series IV base and AL devices with serial numbers that begin with TT.
    After determining the loading position for a plate size, use the plate alignment labels (shipped with the Trendsetter) to mark the locations on the glass load ramp or plate bay.
    Repeat the process for all the plate sizes used by a customer.
    2. TOOLS AND PARTS REQUIRED
    • Measuring tape
    • Plate alignment labels (74-3114A for base, 74-3181A for AL,CL)
    • Sample plate of each size used by the customer
    3. DETERMINING THE LOAD POSITION
    The section describes how to calculate the position for the following plate widths:
    • 723 mm (28.5 in.) to 1118 mm (44 in.)
    • 451 mm (17.8 in.) to 722 mm (28.4 in.)
    • 261 mm (10.3in.) to 450 mm (17.7 in.)
    • 215 mm (8.5 in.) to 260 mm (10.2 in.)

    The plate should sit on registration blocks 1 and 2, and its position should be offset by 221 mm (8.70 in.) towards the home side on the load ramp or in the load bay.     3.4 Plate widths between 215 mm (8.5 in.) and 260 mm (10.2 in.)

    4. PLACING THE ALIGNMENT LABELS
    Note: If you do not have the plate alignment labels that were shipped with the AL or CL platesetter, you can download them from the Trendsetter 400/800 AL Installation page (http://techplanet.creo.com/output/computer_to_plate/trendsetter_al/nav/install.htm#install_procs) and print them on adhesive-backed paper.
    1. Based on the calculation above for a plate size, measure the distances A and B from the center of the load ramp or bay and put a faint pencil mark at each position.
    2. On a base Trendsetter, open the exit door and place a plate between the pencil marks. On a Trendsetter AL or CL, place the plate in the bay between the pencil marks.
    3. Using the plate as a guide, line up the labels at the two upper corners of the plate and press the label:
    • on the rear side of the glass load ramp on a base Trendsetter
    • against the load bay on a Trendsetter AL or CL
    4. Repeat the steps above for each plate size required.
