    Smile Ctp

If you decided to buy ctp you have to pay attention to some instanc:
1-how long has laser worked(laser on time)
2-what kind of speed is your ctp :
    1-s(standard)
    2-f(fast)
    3-v(very fast)
3-what kind of size ctp do you need:
    Ts3230
    ts3244
    ts vlf
4-do you wan to buy mpe ctp or mce

    Red face Go for New.

I prefer new CTP instead of old one. If u see only the cost. The new is higher than old one. But if u see service cost and spares and production time lost etc. It will be the same as new one. If u need a good night sleep. I recommend new CTP.

    regards
    Remo

I voted for Kodak. If you have much money, you should buy the Trendsetter. If your fund is low, you could buy an Lotem 800V Quantum speed. Hope it helps.

    Ctp

I would consider RENT option rather then buying used ctp.
Used Heidelberg and other manufacturers parts prices are paintfull. With new machine you get 3 years warranty but some parts, in my experience with Suprasetter tend to break right after these 3 years.

There are in market used CTP with full options left from upgrading (with multiloaders, good GJ processors, etc) for RENT. With rent contract You get fixed cost, no worries for break, full options, maintainance packs.

It really depends on the manufacturer. We have a commercial plateshop and print plates for other companies. We have been working with a dozen different brands of Chinese plates for six years already, and none of them ever damaged the CTP (that's a Kodak Trendsetter 800III). We do however have to adjust the speed and temp on the developer machine every time but we got used to it.

Slightly off-topic but we were once told by a used ctp seller that there is a meter which can be accessed in the control panel (of ctp machines in general i guess) which reads how many hours the machine/laser has run. Can this be reset in any way?

This is not impossible. The machine changes it every hour, so it's definitely not read-only. However, you would require some kind of a privilege escalation to set the parameter, rather than get it. I suggest you read a service manual for your machine that lists all of the commands and parameters.

Iam going to purchase a ctp, possibly in 2-3 weeks, and we know the Avalon butwe have no experience with the Trendsetter 3244

Doesanybody knows how to check the head lamp/laser or how to see the plates worked inany internal data?

Also, with the Avalon we know it can be done a test to check the head lamp/laserstatus, and in the Trendsetter?

Whatis the reasonable price for this equipment around 4-5 years old?
