Exclamation Agfa Accuset 1200 with star600 rip Calibration

I've an Agfa Accuset 1200 with and Agfa Star 600 Rip, it's working fine but I need to calibrate it (grayscale ). Because these imagesetter does not come with any manuals or software I try it using Agfa Calibrator (v 4.0 and 4.01) for Macintosh, but I receive only postscript errors and the grayscale test page never prints. Do I need other software to do that, any suggestions?

Do you got also a PC connected? If you use Agfa Calibrator for PC and Agfa Set for setting up the machine and create the right PPD file then it will work.

Other way is buy PCI interface and cable API, and install some Software Rip, Agfa Taipan, Agfa PdfRip, or any Apogee v5 or les.

As far as I can recall we were using a utilility called AgfaSet.

And change the values from the calibration menu...

You can also use (if you have a Mac) a Utility like Lino PS Util,
but I think these apps run only on Mac OS 9...

If you are using a Mac and OS 9 I can dig up a couple of utilities from some
old backup CDs, If that would help you.

    calibration

It is not very difficult to calibrate a Star 200/400/600 rip. You need the Tool Agfa Calibrator wich i can send you if you do not got it. There is for Mac and for PC.
With this tool, a test page is generated and send to the rip and then imaged. After measuring the dot percentage with a densitometer, you enter the values you measured in the software, then you save this calibration file on the rip or the PC. With the tool AgfaSet you then create a PPD file wich you choose when you print files or export files to PDF or create PS files. If you need these utilities please feel free to contact me.
