    1 Bit TIFF

    Hi!
What is the best way to create 1 BIT TIFF files? The software that came with the platesetter (Prinect Metashooter) only accept this kind of file.

Thank you. For now we will not use workflow. As for RIPs, I'm seeing that most are based on Harlequin. Is there a big difference between them?

    Metashooter - Tiff downloader

You need a RIP to generate the TIFF.
The MetaShooter is just a TIFF downloader. Puts the tiff into the machine.
I recommend you use the Heidelberg MetaDimension, since MetaShooter is software from Heidelberg.
Using both the Heidelberg software, you will have greater integration.
If you use RIP from other manufacturers, work with 4 colors will appear in MetaShooter as four separate works. If you use the MetaDimension, work with 4 colors will appear as a single work containing the 4 colors.
you can also import the Tiff into the Suprasetter without having MetaShooter. Just click on the rocket is on the taskbar, and select the desired tiff. Of course this way will not center, but works for testing. The rocket of the taskbar is installed automatically by CtP User Interface, after created the Pagebuffer.

Agreed. You could bodge it with a harlequin rip, but why not have a workflow?

The best way to create a 1 bit tiff file is with a RIP like HARLEQUIN, if you want to do it with workflows you will need the license of TIFF OUT that not always come by default.

    Thumbs up Only for information

    Only for information:
The Screen Trueflow is based on Java
The Kodak Prinergy is based on Oracle

Note: To generate 1 bit tif without workflow, I recommend:
    Navigator RIP 8 or Express.

If you are using a Screen CTP recommend generating a TIF 1bit with 2400dpi.

If using a CTP recommend Basys generate a TIF 1bit with 1500dpi.

Try prinergy. It's quite easy to use.
