Mini How to Reinstall Epson Stylus RIP Pro Mac OS X

    Reinstall Epson Stylus RIP Pro

How do I reinstall the Epson Stylus RIP Pro software on Mac OS X?

Please follow the steps below to uninstall & reinstall the Stylus Rip Professional 2.0 on OS 10:

    Note:
Please turn off all virus protection software before uninstalling the Stylus Rip Professional. If you are unsure how to turn off the software, please see the documentation that came with the software, or contact the software vendor.

    Uninstall the Stylus RIP

Insert the CD-ROM that came included with your Stylus Rip Professional 2.0 software into the CD-ROM drive.
    Double-click the CD-ROM drive.
Open the OSX_Installer folder, and then double-click the Epson PS Server Uninstaller icon.
    Click Uninstall.
If the Authenticate window appears, enter your passphrase, and then click OK.
In HD, Library, Receipts - remove EpsoftRip_PPD_SP2200.pkg and EpsoftRip_StylusPhoto2200.pkg.
Restart the Mac. Upon restarting, please empty your trash.
Once the uninstall is complete, please click the OK button in the dialog box that appears.

Before installing the Stylus Rip Professional, you will need to determine what kind of installation you need. There are two methods of installing: Stand Alone or Client.

To install the Stylus Rip Professional on a standalone (or print server) Macintosh, please follow the Easy Install instructions below.

To install the Stylus Rip Professional on a client Macintosh (or if you do not want to print directly from the print server Macintosh), please follow the Custom installation instructions below.

    Easy Install Installations

Insert the CD that shipped with the Epson Stylus Rip Professional 2.0 into your CD-ROM drive.
    Double-click the CD-ROM icon.
    Open the OSX_Installer folder.
    Double-click the Installer icon.

    Note:
If the Authenicate window appears, please enter your passphrase and select OK.

    Click Continue.
Select the destination disk to install the software. Click Continue.
Click Upgrade instead of Install, since the software is being reinstalled.
When the installation is complete, please select Close.

    Custom Install Instructions

Insert the Stylus RIP Professional 2.0 CD-ROM into the CDROM drive.
    Double-click the CD-ROM icon.
    Open the OSX_Installer folder.
    Double-click the Installer_ icon.
If the Authenticate window appears, please enter your passphrase and click OK.
    Click Continue.
Select the destination drive to install the software. Click Continue.
Click Upgrade instead of Install, since the software is being reinstalled.
Select the item(s) you wish to install. Click on Install to begin installing.
When the installation is complete, click Close.

    Starting the PS Server

You will need to set up the Stylus RIP Professional when you launch the PS SERVER for the first time.

Turn on the printer. Make sure the printer's power light is on, and there are no red error lights.
Double-click the Hard Drive. Double-click the Applications folder.

    Note:
AppleTalk is only available when your computer is connected to a network environment. Make sure that AppleTalk is active. Otherwise, Stylus RIP Professional will not be available. To activate AppleTalk, click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences. Continue by clicking the Network icon, and then click the AppleTalk tab. Finally, select the Make AppleTalk Active check box.

Double-click the Epson PS Server icon. Select the printer from the dialog box that appears. (If necessary, click Scan to see your printer.)

    Note:
If you have multiple AppleTalk zones, select the zone where the printer is located and then select the printer name.

Click OK. If the printer's power is on and the printer is ready to print, PS Server selects the printer and prepares it for printing. When the License key dialog box appears, type your key in the box and click OK.

    Note:
The license key is written on the CD-ROM case. You only need to enter the license key the first time you start the PS Server.
