It is a good software for presentation to the client as it gives u a self exe cutive file which run on java were the client can see the product in 3D, the carton folding and the flap in 3d.

I've just spent a considerable amount of time working with RV3DP. Overall it was good to work with producing good results as of version 1.2.0 here are my comments.

    1) You can fold and assemble multi-part packages and control the animation of the folding, this is good but the controls to adjust, reposition and modify the folds are a bit clumsy.
    2) The link between the app and AI6 is hit or miss at times. I've had sessions where the link broke between the document and the app and I had to start all over.
    3) Performance is slow at times
    4) I'm not happy with the branding logos in the viewer, I don't want any to know what tools of the trade I use. So I used 3D PDF which greatly limits the printing effect visibility unless you use their viewer.
    5) The GUI needs a lot of work! It's not easy to have the dialog boxes accessible and still have a nice size working window, adjustments and naming/renaming of the elements is spotty so sometimes it's hard to identify what folds belong to what parts of the package when editing.
    6) It's expensive! And the upgrade/maintenance path eliminates all but seat to be installed in most locations during these economic times.
    7) Limited materials library (at least from my evaluation version), I expected more printing effects in the library although you can create your own, I'm not sure that lends itself to "real world use".

These are just some thoughts... maybe better buy at version 2.0...
