I think Pixelmator for Mac makes a good (and substantially less expensive) replacement for Photoshop

Illustrator for probably too many things. Serif's Affinity Designer is also really slick but is not any near parity with features I would consider integral to my workflow (smart guides, blends).

Depends on the task - Adobe Photoshop for pictures, Illustrator for vector stuff and InDesign for layouting.

Whatever you do in the end it all comes in InDesign. The old days it was QuarkXpress, but now InDesign rules!!!

I am using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop since 1996. I like these apps. Also I am using Cinema 4D for product visualization,I am using Maxwell Render for ultra-realistic rendering.

Illustrator is simply the best for throwing layouts together quickly and asset creation. No other app gets work done quicker.

Photoshop is now become just as useful a tool for all quick and detailed imagery, video and animation edits.

I like Adobe Illustrator on the Mac, though for simpler projects I also use Pages 4.1 (layout mode).

Photoshop, though I've been considering looking at Illustrator again. I was never exactly great at it but the potential was obvious.
