If you want to reach out to a broad and professional audience, behance.net is the definite way to go. It's also an incredible place to get inspiration and get in touch with some amazing people and talents.

Behance works well if you're interested in the community aspect of it!

To name something different, I've recently discovered pixpa.com and they have some nice templates and it's very easy to use, but unfortunately not that much customizable and you have to pay a subscription, I think.

For my own portfolio I have my own domain and use Wordpress, it's just the best in terms of customization and support.

I would also recommend Cargo. You need to apply for an account with a short message about you and your work so it may not be as easy as creating a behance or something similar, but I think Cargo is way better.
